A short walk along the (frozen) Staffs/Worcs Canal this morning from the Stewponey bridge to the River Stour confluence with the Smestow Brook.
Lesser spotted woodpecker - single bird in flight.
Goldcrest - several sightings of single bird.
Jackdaw - several noisy birds.
Green woodpecker - 3 sightings of single bird.
Nuthatch - 2 birds in trees.
Coal tit - single bird.
Great spotted woodpecker - male in tree.
Grey heron - bird flew from River Stour, later saw a bird on field beyond river.
